Constellation Group LLC has been involved with this Convention Center since its opening.  In partnership with Stegman Engineering, PA, CGLLC is responsible for the preventive maintenance and structural repairs on this structure. To date, exterior waterproofing; and repairs to correct deficient rebar design have been executed. Future repairs may include epoxy overlays and carbon-fiber reinforcing.

Below are photographs of levelling of six spans at the front elevation of the building. All repairs were conducted from underneath the walkway to minimize interruption to this busy facility. Permanent shoring posts were installed on AB Chance helical pile supported foundations. Four 30 kip working capacity piles were installed under each of the foundations.  Lifting and leveling of the slabs was performed with 150 ton hydraulic jacks. CGLLC and Dennis (Butch) Triplett (www.dennistriplettllc.com) performed the initial test on timber cribbing to confirm the repairs would perform satisfactorily.

Within two years of construction, concrete slabs have sagged 3 inches between column lines.  Slabs on the left are the Convention Center, Boardwalk is to the right

Shoring frames designed by CGLLC are being erected in low head room conditions

Here is a good picture of the vertical displacement of the slab.  This was a serious safety issue with the local Fire Marshall's Office and needed to be corrected.

This shoring frame, one of six, is being hydraulically lifted by a 150 ton jack, pushing the slab into correct position.

The slab is in the correct final position and the shoring frame was locked into position.

The last two of six spans have been lifted.  Job was performed during the height of the tourist season with no interruptions to the facility or the public.  Work was performed by Quinn Construction, Folcroft, PA.
